Meet the Mendocino Coast Doula Group
We work together as independent professionals to accept the same insurance and provide strong support to each other and our community. In order to ensure you have support, it is good to establish care with a doula as soon as you are ready, we can reserve months in advance. The first step is to text or call 7078322929 and if the chat goes well for you. If reserving in advanced, we schedule one visit to meet and go over ideas and then we will be set for the time you would like your support to begin.

Meet Nicole Patton, (She/Her) Certified Full Spectrum Doula and Massage Therapist
Nicole will be supporting pregnancy and birth. We have a team of postpartum doulas that can continue care if you would like support after baby arrives. She is serving areas without access to a doula for postpartum, when possible. Nicole feels grateful to be able to travel any time day or night, her partner Hans and her son Reef, are very understanding.
As a certified and experience birth professional also known as a doula, she is well prepared to support you in the many different ways you birth your baby. Medicated, unmedicated, scheduled cesarean, and if things don't go as planned, Nicole can be there for you, at any time during pregnancy.
Some common questions answered by Nicole:
Where do I travel for birth: Mendocino to Sonoma County, hospitals, birth centers, and in home. Sometimes it's nice to have space depending on your support needs, I can be nearby and honor any space you need. I have a small travel trailer to stay in,
What does my support look like? During pregnancy it is nice to hear your thoughts and vision. I enjoy doing body balancing with my clients with a few spinning babies techniques and comforting relaxing touch. Many client's find relief from discomfort and a nice nap afterwards. My role as a doula is to assist you in your birth journey. I offer helpful one-on-one birth technique practice and preparation that can include your partner learning to support you, virtual or in person.
I take supporting your vision very seriously, it does take a little while to learn and hear what is important to you. I make sure that I see and understand you and we can prepare a birth preference page for your birth team to learn as well. It is very helpful with shift changes and to get everyone on the same page.
My goal is also to have a clear understanding of where you would like a doula to assist in your birth experience. I do love to provide physical support and comfort measures but there are so many other ways to support a birthing person. I want to learn where your needs are and accommodate them. Everyone has a different vision and I am open to how I could serve you best.
We have a lot of options, virtual support, being nearby,
Some areas I have special experience to support my client's in are:
Twin births Vaginal, VBAC, or Cesarean, VBAC births I am an advanced VBAC doula.

Becoming a parent is tender, raw, and transformative. Mandela walks alongside families in this season with warmth, steadiness, and a deep respect for each family’s unique path.
Mandela is a postpartum doula certified through the Sierra Childbirth Institute, offering care for families in the tender weeks after birth.
Her care includes newborn care, meal prep, rest and recovery time for parents, housework, support for partners and siblings, emotional processing, and more.
With a background in somatic coaching, she brings a body-centered approach that supports both emotional and physical transitions.
She also provides nonjudgmental support through abortion and miscarriage, with many insurance plans covering postpartum visits for these experiences as well, ensuring women and families feel cared for no matter the outcome.
As a mother to a young toddler, Mandela understands firsthand the challenges and beauty of this season. She partners with Mendo Coast Doulas and accepts Medi-Cal, Kaiser, and some other health plans to make support more accessible.
Her intention is simple: that every parent feels cared for, empowered, and not alone.

What could doula support could look like during...

Pregnancy
You may feel concerned that a doula has an idea of how a pregnancy should look. I invite you to feel seen and heard without bias. Your vision and goals for your pregnancy and birth will be fully heard and supported. I am dedicated to what you want for your experience during pregnancy.

Birth
Just like pregnancy I am also there to support you in the birth choices you feel are best for you. For example, where you would like to birth, medicated, unmedicated, any types of birthing techniques, infant feeding, and so much more. It is so valuable to share this with me during pregnancy so I can support your vision while you focus on your birth experience. I will invite you to create a birth plan and share what sounds right for you. Any choices are good choices for you!

After Baby Arrives

Can you picture how it would look for you back at home now that you have given birth and your body is adjusting. Let's envision what you want it to look like and what you need to make that happen, sometimes we look at the pregnancy, birth, and all the things we need for baby in detail, but not the logistics of what it will be like after baby arrives. It can be so beneficial to take time to rest while others hold down the household. I would love to hear how you would like that to look. Every person is different so you get to design and invite me where you feel my services are needed. There are many tasks I can help with including light cleaning, help with siblings, creating time for you to shower, cooking...
